Cooks were contracted by the private client to undertake essential repairs to the boathouse and riverbank. The boathouse posts were at the point of total collapse, the posts at waterline level had almost rotted away entirely. The existing stone work riverbank was showing signs of dilapidation, with sections collapsing into the watercourse. Cooks carried out all of the required paperwork for and behalf of the client in order to obtain the relevant Environment Agency Flood Risk Activity Permit. Cooks installed new steel sheet piles to protect the clients land from being lost into the river. The piling was covered and protected with timber capping and rubbing boards. The boathouse was jacked up and the rotted timber posts replaced with new specialist timbers, this enabled the home owner to continue to safely moor their vessels.
