Bridges can come in many different shapes, sizes and styles. The site conditions and the purpose of the bridge will determine the design of the bridge. It may be a small timber built footbridge for crossing over a backwater, or it may be a steel structure that needs to be capable of taking both pedestrian and vehicle loadings. The difference in design and costs can vary considerably depending on what the purpose of the bridge is for.
If you decide to construct a bridge the chances are you will need to obtain an Environment Agency Flood Risk Activity Permit (FRAP). As part of our client service we can act on behalf of the client in order to determine the application for the EA FRAP. Once we get to know your project better, we will be able to advise you on what is required for the Environment Agency to determine your FRAP application. We have been working with the Environment Agency for many years and understand the complexity and level of detail required in order to satisfy the EA requirements.
